On this day unexplainably good things happened! I simply cannot describe it other than magic was present at every moment of this photographic experience. It felt so easy and fluid. Of course, I will always credit Mother Earth for her beautiful natural backdrops she painted for us. Such a gift to be mirrored back all the serenity in one frame. The conversation and planning with Elizabeth was a breeze. She was so engaged with communicating on outfits, locations, and emotions preceding our time together. I would not be exaggerating when I say that Elizabeth was the dream client!
Even the way we met felt like a synchronicity from the Universe. We were both hired to teach yoga at Dandelight, a new boutique yoga studio in downtown Delray Beach. A couple of months prior to the soft opening, each teacher signed up to guide a free and public Saturday rooftop class. I happened to have a curiosity towards Kundalini Yoga. A style quite foreign to the ones I guide and at the same time filled with the same creative principles I am embodying, exploring, and teaching on the mat. Well, I ended up on that rooftop as one of Elizabeth’s students with an openness to the benefits of the Kundalini rising feminine energy! I entered a novice and left a hardcore fan.
For those of you [my readers] that are not knowledgeable in the realm of Kundalini Yoga, I was there once and with Elizabeth, I have learned so much. As she describes it, the practice is: ” a guidance system for empowerment and sovereignty through breath, movement, visualization, mantra, and meditation. Wearing white is helpful because it expands one’s auric field. You dress as as queen/king and feel royal. Where the attention goes the prana [life source] flows. Direct your power.” From my perspective we all have the power to create, we do it everyday with every decision that we make. Kundalini Yoga is simply an additional medium where we can acquire the tools to awaken, sustain, and use our creative energy for the expansion of our minds, the strengthening of our nervous system, and the soothing of our glandular system (among many other benefits). It is quite beautiful and absolutely liberating!
Among the many conversations I have shared with Elizabeth, I am fairly certain she is a flower in human form. Her dharma centered strongly on being a conduit of healing knowledge to those who are open, wanting, and ready to begin their own spiritual journey. All through her classes and music, she strives to help people feel more embodied, safe, valued, and worthy. The process is a passage to the natural unfoldment of our own personal power. I am a true testament of this magic! Imagine a rose slowly and gently blooming – spreading her petals one at a time, unfolding from the center in spiral form! At least, in my experience, that’s how the kundalini awakening feels. It ignites and rises from the sacrum as two intertwined serpents gliding upward, activating our energy centers, and opening doors into the deepest and most intuitive parts of our souls.
“Sat Nam” [meaning “I am truth”] as Elizabeth would say!
Best of energies,
~M
