I am a South Florida based yoga guide specialized in the styles of Vinyasa, Yin, and chair yoga. As time has progressed I have begun to transmute my practice to also incorporate creative movement, breath, and meditation. When I create my classes I tune into my experiences, surroundings, creativity, intuition, and what we may need. Not one detail is left untouched. I teach from what I know, what I have overcome, what I love, what I dislike, and what I feel. All with the hopes that the tools I lay forth are implemented not just on the mat, but beyond. I’d like for my students to remember, once more, the smell of roses, the warmth of the sun, and the vibrancy that is their light and soul. Sometimes we will move in the-in-betweens, sometimes we will move faster, sometimes we will move slower, but always from a place of creation and self-exploration!

2011:
My journey initiated with my stepmom, Mylo, an excellent life coach, reiki master, and holistic facilitator. I was a skeptical 20 year old sophomore in college and struggling. Over a long period of time, she guided me through self-awareness, introspection, meditation, and the chakras. All delivered to me in very small bite-size parcels. She kept it simple by guiding me through the exploration and intricacy of my thoughts. Till this day, I am STILL mastering my thoughts!

2015 - 2016:
With time I took little steps to supplement my journey. Over the span of 2 years, I received my Reiki certifications with my master Paulette Peloquin. The knowledge and teachings of the universal healing energy life source aided in understanding my body, my pains, my aches, and how to self-nourish in difficult times.

2019 - 2020
A couple of years thereafter I was gifted the opportunity of enrolling in two different 200 hour yoga teacher trainings at Yoga Journey. Those two experiences have, in indescribable ways, given me the room and tenderness to understand my inner workings with plenty of understanding, clarity, and steady growth. The magic of seeing myself in a different light and through the lens of pure love is something I’ll cherish endlessly.

Present Moment:
I must emphasize that I am an endless process in which there are moments of joy and moments of darkness! Those two embodiments go hand in hand and as long as we keep living, thriving, and breathing they will simultaneously co-exist in each and every one of us! All we are ever asked is that we are brave enough to take a chance and begin the inner alchemy.

Different Wellness modalities we may practice together:

Vinyasa: 

Physically strengthening and stretching muscles
Links breath, movement and poses together
Poses are held for 3- 5 breaths
Slow/moderate speed
Energizing

Yin: 

Stretches deep tissue, joints, and ligaments
Poses are held for 3- 5 minute

Soothes the "scattered mind" and nervous system

All with a touch of meditation and breath for a fun and transformative experience. Creative Movement is an invitation to experiment with your inner workings, varying in intensity and difficulty depending on the theme of the day and your desire to move. Can you share with me how your journey with yoga, spirituality, and wellness initiated? 

I was a bit skeptical at the beginning of my spiritual journey. My stepmom, Mylo, being a life coach and reiki master at the time, had a lot of information that I felt curious and at the same time fearful of. Nonetheless, she was so kind in giving me some space to figure it all out on my own. I can tell you the specific moment when it all came together. I was a 20 year old sophomore in college and struggling. While driving to school I called my dad and I said: “There has to be more to life than this.” All he did was listen to me and after, he said: “When you feel ready, call Mylo, she will give you the guidance that you are seeking.”

We started with self-awareness, introspection, meditation, and the chakras, all delivered to me in very [and I mean VERY] small bite-size parcels, over a very long period of time. She always said and keeps saying: “Keep it simple. You don’t need crystals, essential oils, yoga asanas, or sound healing. All you need is to master your thoughts.” Till this day I am STILL mastering my thoughts!

Different Yoga/Wellness Modalities We May Practice During Our Time Together:

Vinyasa: Physically strengthening/stretching, intellectually challenging, emotionally liberating, and spiritually uplifting. As we embark on an adventure on your yoga mat we will consciously move through a moderate paced flow of poses using our breath as our anchor and our muscles as support. Our goal is to create balance of opposites and union between the mind, the body, and the soul. During this journey, we most often go within ourselves so that we support mindfully outward into the world.

Yin: Yoga for the mind. A slower paced flow mostly on the floor where we hold 5-9 poses for a longer period of time. The practice is meant to be gentle, as well as, calming to the nervous system. It focuses more on stretching the extremities of the body such as ligaments, joints, and the tendons, while enhancing mobility to the skeletal body. During the stillness, the restful practice challenges the mind to remain in the present moment.

Mindful meditation, breathing exercises, and sound healing: Mindful meditation is the practice of combining both breath exercises and mindful guidance to engage in a short period of contemplation or reflection. It is usually done seated or laying down, in comfort, and with the idea of soothing the “scattered mind” and nervous system. The tools visited during this time can help with navigating life with equanimity.
Sound healing is the use of specific instruments, music tones, and sonic vibrations to aid in healing the mind, body, and spirit. Often, we will use specific sound frequencies to create a calming environment promoting deep rest, nervous system rebalancing, and possibly emotional release. 

Massage balls + light Stretching: We use either massage balls OR tennis balls to gently self-massage. Usually we will target the hands, feet, shoulders, and extremities of the body to stretch the deep tissue and our ligaments while improving range of motion in our joints. Each session is coupled with light stretching and moments of silence.

Reiki: The word REIKI means Universal Life Force and it lives inside all of us. The practice consists of the technique of gentle hand movements with the intention of channeling and guiding a healthy flow of reiki energy within your body to reduce stress, release blockages, and promote healing on a deeper level. The practice encourages the balancing of your own energetic state — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
