what's included
Our first meeting is very important. It is where we get to know each other. I learn about your story and desires and you get to know me as your guide. So let's get together and have a video call and share a virtual mug.
Give you your first self exploratory exercise!
We will meet in person 4 times throughout this mentorship. In each session I will teach you the basics of photography. We can meet at a coffee house, library, or anywhere.
Basic theory lesson: Composition, lighting, message
Basic technical lesson: How to use your camera? Manual Mode
3 self exploratory exercises to expand your creativity and practice
final presentation of your creations
This is so exciting! During our second in person meeting we will dedicate some time to shoot together out in the environment so that you can practice and get comfortable with your camera. Our third meeting will be dedicated to JUST shooting, being on the field, and asking questions!
Resource material for you to reference in the future
Second meeting: I will guide you in shooting
Third meeting: You will guide me in shooting
You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to fail. That, my friends, is how you grow and learn. I do not want to teach you how to create my way! No! I would like to help you pave your own creative path. My purpose is to guide you in building a strong foundation and stir you into using your own creativity, inspiration, and life experiences in your photographs. It would be an honor to share this adventure with you! * For investment contact me below.
FAQ
Please note, you must be 16 years of age or older. Must own a camera (smartphone, point and shoot, or DSLR), have a passion for photography/creativity, be open-minded, be dedicated, at least have minimal knowledge of camera usage, and want to expand your skills. You do not have to be a professional photographer!
Well, because it will be an enriching, fun, and exciting adventure! You are fervently wanting to genuinely connect with your audience by instilling MOMENTS and EXPERIENCES! Learn how to use your DSLR (Canon) or smartphone (iPhone) to take beautiful photos of your every day (guest at a wedding, my children, my friend, my pets, just my everyday). You want to increase the quality of the photos on your social media. Maybe you are a traveler and want to capture more engaging photographs of nature and landscapes. You want to take on a new hobby that is stress free and learn the basics of photography. You are looking to get into fashion and portrait photography and desire to heighten your skills.
These mentoring sessions are designed for people with very minimal technical skills. If you have intermediate or advanced knowledge, you are also welcome! You will need your own smartphone, point and shoot, or DSLR, memory cards, and laptop to access the course material. Also, do not forget to bring your smile and willingness to learn and work!
The mentoring sessions will take place over a 2 month period to give you enough time for everything. We will meet four times. In our first 3 sessions we will cover the fundamentals of basic photography and the technical aspect of using a camera or camera phone. We will have plenty of time to put all of the material to practice by shooting, which is the most exciting part! Some topics we will cover are: Composition, Lighting, Message, DSLR Manual Mode (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), Basic Smartphone Photography, and most importantly where to find your own inspiration for creation! On our fourth session you will present to me a final series of your choice!
To truly take a great photograph, you must observe, train your eyes, and be aware of your surroundings. I want to give you the boost you need to start observing, looking, and seeing in a more heightened and sensitized way so that when you put your camera in hand, the photo is already there for you. In sharing as much information as I can, we can foster a space for you to ask as many questions as possible, shoot, and be yourself without any time constraints. The learning creative process does not happen over night, it requires patience, dedication, freedom, and a lot of FUN! I am only honored to be able to grant you this opportunity to find yourself and start to share your creative voice with the world!
You can email me at: info@mariamorphotography.com telling me you'd love to sign up for the program! Tell me a little bit about yourself, why you want to start the mentoring sessions, and any fun fact about yourself. I will share with you the pricing information and we shall get started! WOOT WOOT!
