The curtain swayed from side to side as a small glimmer of morning light reflected a gentle ballad on the wall. We had forgotten to close the window last night and now a breeze cooled our cozy home. It was still gray in our room; the colors muted among the shadows. Only a yellow blanket stood out from all the monotony. I remember you put her over my shoulders while we watched the night sky drinking wine and eating chocolate. Now, she laid lifelessly on the chair with our cat’s tale sticking out from under. The plants hanging from the ceiling welcomed the morning with their leaves wide open. Bare skinned below our covers, I felt this indescribable warmth I simply wanted to enjoy. So I laid in silence while you slept soundly. My thoughts took me into a doze and before I lost my awareness, you placed your arm softly around my waist pulling me under your embrace. I felt your energy engulf mine in a powerful hug. The space we held was without compare, because within the shadows of the morning light, the yellow blanket, and our playful cat I knew that this precious moment was a whisper through time!
