Maria’s Note:
Children have this innocence about them that if observed with detail, can teach us quite a few qualities.
They are kind without asking for anything back.
They play without limitation. Often running, dancing, tumbling, and falling on the floor. They do not care about getting dirty or injured. They JUST PLAY!
When they sing, they are not worried about how their voice will sound or be heard by someone else. They just sing!
Curiosity visits them often and they embrace her. To them, nothing goes unnoticed. The little bug in between the grass blades is just as interesting as the leaves that fall simultaneously from the tree branches or a random tennis ball on the way.
They emulate with precision. Spider-man is just as much a role-model as mom, dad, or the worm they spotted on the way to the swing.
Their love is pure and honest. They don’t discriminate and forgive very quickly.
I could say they are the epitome of living life purely in the present moment!
Isn’t it beautiful that for a short period of our lives we were also care free? Today, I find it funny that most of us fervently seek to go back to those care free days. We tend to forget that which we have been striving to get back to is dormant inside of us. The older I get, there more I believe we were already born with those qualities- kindness, playfulness, curiosity, and love – we just need to get back to the source. We need to reconnect to our truest self and introduce ourselves to those aspects we put away. Children teach us that!
A Little Something About The DeAntoni Family
The DeAntoni family holds a very warm space in my heart. They stay resilient even through the toughest turbulence with smiles, hugs, gentleness, and lots of family connection. I learned from them all of the above, because through my view-finder I witnessed what it is to be untainted from society. Those two kids, Jaden and Isabella, they live without limitations. My photos are simply little sweet nothings of their essence.
