She said to me “Go With The Flow” as we got out of the car in the early morning.
Nicole, a beautiful Colombian chick with a love for the ocean, an obsession with Polynesian design, and an adoration for the Pluemeria.
Her calmness complemented the silence of the trees and the slow movement of the water. She was neither too eager or too enthusiastic. There was simply an admirable equilibrium within her that morning.
As I photographed her I enjoyed her natural demeanor. I loved hearing about her travel stories in between each shutter snap. Where she had been, who she met, what she ate, the things she saw and experienced. It is as if her stories were some how projected either through her clothes or the way she expressed herself. She did not need to try, her essence simply radiated.
There were moments in which she released numerous cackles and others in which she got deeply serious with her thoughts. She kept me laughing and pensive at the same time.
At one point she was telling me a very interesting story about a guy she was dating and she said to me she was still old-fashioned when it came to romance. She mentioned she likes and appreciates when the guy approaches the girl and invites her out and as she looked around a bit, she expressed to me with hope that chivalry would not disappear any time soon.
I looked at her and agreed. Her guy will come along, all in time and with patience. She deserves it!
